I don't frequent Starbucks unless I'm on the road and it's convenient, but I am glad to see it's getting over itself a bit after struggling some recently.
Starbucks is creating its first value menu, although in true Starbucks fashion it's not going to be called anything that hints of the 'value' sentiment. Instead it's a 'pairing' program, where food and drink items are paired for less than $4.
Still, it's enough of a price cut to possibly get me stopping by more. That is, until that Dunkin' Donuts they're building around the block from my house opens up in a few weeks.

Interesting. I'm curious to see what items are paired and if the oatmeal falls into that category. Profit wise, they have to be making a killing on oatmeal, it's such a low food cost item.
Thanks for that - its really interesting. Here in Canadia our big donut chain Tim Hortons has just started doing lattes really cheaply so it will be interesting to see how that affects north of the border!
I never go to Starbucks except once in a blue moon as well, but it's good to see they're at least attempting a value menu.
They're building a DD near you? Sweet Jesus!
WHEN is DD opening?! I heard rumors but didn't know it was coming so soon. I would like to try one of their egg white paninis...AFTER I check the nutritional value of those suckers first.
I go to Starbucks a lot because Boot Camp provides us coffee there. I like their Americano a lot. I never eat there but have noticed that they cut the healthy options they had. The Berry Stella was a favorite among my campers and has been 86ed.
