Modern Friends, I've got to be straight with you.
I haven't really been feeling the blogging urges lately. Oh no, here's one of those 'going on hiatus' posts. No, no, I'm not announcing a hiatus or blogcation.
When I started The MG blog nearly two years ago, I needed an outlet and a friend. I was in a tumultuous time in my life where I had neither, and The MG ended up fulfilling that need in my life. Then it was a fun hobby when I still didn't have a lot of friends and had a little more free time. Then it was my crutch for when I went through tough stuff.
I'm here to say right now, life is good. So good, in fact, that I'm struggling to blog.
Sure, I have things I'd love to write aboutt: the current state of the house (we've been sans waterfall or other major problems for a couple of weeks now ... knock on wood ... it's been nice) or my nightly bike rides exploring my city or the Pig Cold that's infested my body or how the dude at the neighborhood bike shop managed to pull an awesome prank on the Modern Fella.
But the thing is, I'm so busy living these things that I just don't have the down time to write about them.
I've re-entered my busy season at work, so gone are the lunch breaks I could spend blogging. Even when I do have a little down time, I'm so overwhelmed by all the things I could write about that instead of narrowing it down and just writing I wave the white flag and go play on Twitter.
I'm not giving up on blogging, I'm just going to stop promising that I'll post regularly. Which you know means I'll immediately return to posting twice a day, just because I'm so good at sticking my foot in my mouth. No, seriously. This two to three times a week routine is probably here to stay. I'm sorry friends, I feel like I'm letting you down, but I just don't see things changing much any time soon.
I do still Twitter incessantly, so by all means follow me @themoderngal. (If I don't immediately add you as a friend, please tweet something at me so I can distinguish you from the spam.) And if you've been reading for a while, send me an e-mail with your real name and I can add you on Facebook under GASP! my real identity. Also, let me direct your attention to my blogroll on the right sidebar.
I'm sorry, friends. I hope I can find some sort of rhythm again soon.

Don't be sorry! I'm just glad you're not quitting altogether. I'm not good at posting more than once a week or so, and I think my writing is better if I don't force it. Go on and have fun, and write when you have time. :) xoxo
don't apologize! yay for life being so awesome and fun and busy. that's how it should be. work your blog around your life, not your life around your blog :)
Good for you! Glad that you're enjoying life so much!
We're all here when you feel like blogging. That's what RSS feeds are for.

That is fantastic! It's the way life should be. I love reading your posts, but I love even more that you're out enjoying life to the fullest.

Hey lady, I'm glad to hear life is going well, of course I'm sad you're cutting back but I'll be here waiting. And I hope that means we don't lose touch too :(
Don't be sorry, it is your blog after all. We all have times where life gets in the way. No worries, we will all be here when you return. Or we can stalk you on Twitter. ;-)
