Hi friends, I'm back. Sorry again for the sporadic blogging. I'm having a hard time keeping up with my life right now, much less The Modern Gal. So much so that I'm probably going to punt the last leg of my vacationpalooza -- what is supposed to be another trip to Memphis -- and take a three-day weekend at home, just to get my life back on track.
I've got oodles of photos to share with y'all from both Memphis and San Francisco. I'll probably piece them out into several posts so as not to overwhelm. I also hope to get back to regularly scheduled MG-style blogging soon.
In the meantime, I'll regale you with yet another stand-alone photo. I took this on our first night in San Francisco at the California Academy of Sciences, a life sciences museum which just happened to be having a big cocktail party while we were there. Which wasn't the best thing for me because in my transit across three time zones, I missed a meal or two. So by the time I took this picture, it's safe to say I was three sheets to the wind. I also thought this starfish was hilarious because he was trying to give me a high five.
In retrospect, it's really not funny at all.

He looks a little high-fivey
I say that he's giving you a high-five. HIGH FIVE!
what made this picture funny is the very last sentence of this post. saying it was not funny was indeed, funny. or maybe i'm just weird.
That starfish is clearly saying, "Up high, MG!"
That is an awesome picture! Sometimes just taking a few days for you on a "staycation" is best. Take good care of you.
Of course it's funn! It's always funny when a starfish wants a high five!
