Real Simple has some suggestions for games to play for wedding showers to replace those dreaded (not to mention wasteful) dress-the-bride-up-in-a-toilet-paper-wedding-dress ordeals.
These activities on their own aren't that inventive, but they'd certainly be novel at a shower: darts, poker, karaoke and fortune telling. You might get some great stories out of some of them -- better than anything toilet-paper related. I would hope, anyway.
And if you're really adventurous, I say try them out at a baby shower.
