By now I'm assuming those of you who are going to watch this week's PR have seen it (unless you're KG, in which case: look away!)
And by now it's so far in my TV viewing past, that I don't feel the urge to wax on and on about this week's episode. It's your lucky day.
But I will say this: For someone who loves the idea of green fashion becoming more mainstream, I was sorta disappointed with this challenge, but not because of what the designers came up with.
Have the first few challenges of the season ever been that exciting? I know, I know, SARAH JESSICA PARKER, you say. But really, besides the fact that SJP was on that episode, was it memorable? Because the thing is, this early in the season, we don't know the designers. It's too early and we know too little of them. We get about 15 seconds worth of each designer in the first few episodes, with the exception of the Blaynes and the Suedes.
I was very excited to learn that PR wanted to do something focusing on green fashion because it needs it. Most green fashion is either extremely boring or it's got some recycling symbol plastered across the chest, and as much as I really, really, really want to dress in Earth-friendly togs that stuff really isn't my style. And it's all expensive.
PR realized that they couldn't just do a challenge with green fabrics and make it interesting; it needed some spice. Unfortunately, what they came up with didn't do much for it either. Models pick the fabric??? The fact that they picked all the same stuff made it LESS interesting not MORE.
The redeeming factor was that some of the designers came up with some really good designs. I didn't agree with the judge's choices and I'm not sure anyone did. I think the general consensus is Stella's dress did not deserve top three. Helene's review of it at Project Stunway bears repeating: It looks like something from a Hot Topic green fashion line. Suede's winning design was ok, but I don't think I've heard any real person say they'd wear it.
I have to admit that I have a bit of a gal crush on Kenley and her stunning sheath dress. I think I'm going to put her picture at the top of the page, 'cause I'm kinda tired of holding that pose and wearing the bustier.
P.S. I caught a little bit of Date My Ex later that night and the only thing it did for me was remind me how much I hate Slade and his manipulative ways. Two thumbs down.

Project Runway is underwhelming me so far this year. I think I was just spoiled by the insane talent in last season that I don't feel like there are any "stand out" people yet. Suede is killing me slowly too. I did like that the models did get to pick out the fabric though, that as a nice twist.
Date my ex is an awful show. I don't know WHO thought that was a good idea. Awkward much? Move on!
I made it through approx five minutes of Date My Ex and then I canceled my series recording. I had no idea it could be that bad.
