Modern Friends, some crazy things have been happening in my hometown in the past two days, and as a result I've worked some crazy overtime ever since getting called into work on Sunday.
I feel like something the Lucydog dragged in, though I know I'd feel way better if I had this to sink into when I got home:
Anyone that wants to get The Modern Gal a late birthday gift can find the above chair at this website.
What I'm getting at is that The Modern Gal is going to have to hang out in the proverbial easy chair for a few days as I continue to drown in work, so the posting is going to be light if not nonexistant from me in the mean time.
I am open to some guest posts so if you've got any you want to share here at The MG, e-mail them my way at themoderngal(at)gmail(dot)com. You can write whatever you want that jibes with the MG vibe, but please try to keep posts to one topic -- you can always do more than one post if you've got more than one thing to say. Attach any photos you want posted to your e-mail and spell out the links you want to connect to.
Might I suggest to that any of y'all who nominated someone for The Modern Gal Hall of Fame, now would be an awesome time for you to share your guest post on why your nominee is HOF worthy! Otherwise, I'll be pestering you soon to ante up :-)
I hope to return to my own regularly scheduled programing by Thursday night at the latest. Thanks for your understanding.

Sorry to hear you're drowning in work!
That chair is really fantastic. It's like a major and fun update on a chair my grandmother had.
OMG! I have been totally hearting on the green/white printed chair in the same style on Pottery Barn. But over a grand for a CHAIR is not within my budget!
BTW, I left you an awesome award today on my blog. :-)
I love the cheery print but I'd need arm rests so that I could curl up in it with a good book.
I figured you'd be busy with all the craziness going on. Sad event, that, and one I'll never understand. I always hated covering stuff like that (and fortunately I didn't have to very often.) Good luck.
I do really like that chair. I saw it in the catalog and was crushing on it.
