For the third night in a row, I stayed up way past my bed time except last night wasn't for a good reason: The All-Star Game.
I know what you're thinking: "But ... but ... Modern Gal, it's baseball! Baseball is always a good reason to stay up!"
Not true. Consider the following:
- The outcome of the All-Star Game hasn't changed in 12 years.
- By the second inning, Joe Buck had already told me five times that it was the fourth and final ASG at Yankee Stadium. It's a good time he told me about a hundred more times through the rest of the game or I might have forgotten that they're tearing down Yankee Stadium. Facists.
- Who is Geovany Soto?
- By the third inning, I'd heard Josh Hamilton's story twice. Which brings the total number of times I've heard Josh Hamilton's story up to about 68.
- Brad Lidge has a way of getting owned in important situations. See also: 2005 NLCS, game 5, 2005 World Series game 2.
- By the 10th inning, Dan Uggla had already racked up two errors. I certainly didn't need to see a third one.
That means you're on notice. The entire dang league.

Stupid National League, seriously, what's their deal?
We stayed up for it too, but I admit that by 1:30 a.m. I didn't care who won.
Holy crap, I cannot STAND Tim McCarver. He is the worst announcer ever.
