SRKU in da house

I'm sure you've heard, but in case you haven't: Nicole Kidman had Keith Urban's baby today and in the great tradition of bad celeb baby names, they named her Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. Which doesn't even make for a good acronym.

I used to specifically plot for my very own Nicole sightings when I lived in Nashville, going as far as visiting the Starbucks where I'd heard she'd been spotted even though it was waaaay out of my way or shopping at the uber-expensive mall near where she and Keith lived. Several of my friends had their own sightings (my favorite being a Nicole-at-Target spot), but alas, I was never among them.

  1. I kind of like the name and good for her finally having a natural child. Adoption is great but especially after having a miscarriage, I'm glad it worked out.

They do need a better acronym though.

  2. Sunday is one whopper of a name.

And the acronym totally looks like a text you'd send instead of typing out profanity.

  3. Bayjb: The name could be worse, I suppose. I am very happy for them though. I do love them as a couple.

    Allie: Ha ha ha ha

Alexa: She needs something to give her a little more street cred with that name.

  4. If you can't form a cool, pronounceable acronym with your name, then that sucks! Celebs are trying to hard to be eccentric baby namers now I think.

  5. I heard on the radio today that she may have named her baby Sunday as a shot at Tom Cruise for making her convert to scientology. I guess they don't celebrate Sunday at the holy day or something like that. A little odd.

  6. Not technically a sighting, but my brother's wife had her baby in nashville yesterday at the same hospital as nicole. i caught a glimpse of her security guard as we were going up to postpartum...

  7. I don't think too highly of the name. I often wonder if these parents think of how the kids will be treated in school with such names. I cringe at the thought!
